You should know these 4 types of racket
The choice of club is always crucial, as it has a decisive influence on the swing behavior and the resulting trajectory of the golf ball. Therefore, first ask yourself what kind of golf club you actually need.

Putter
The putter is one of the most important golf clubs in every player's golf bag. The putter is the club for putting the ball on the green and therefore has a decisive influence on the score, i.e. the final number of strokes on a hole. It is also very important for a putter to have the right dimensions and characteristics. Above all, the right length is crucial for a successful putting stroke. We have all the top putter brands and, of course, a putter fitting tailored to you in our range:
- Kramski putters
- Nickel putter
- Ping
- Scotty Cameron
- Odyssey
- Mizuno odyssey
- Wilson Staff

Driver
The Driver is designed for long shots from the tee of a golf hole.
This club is probably the most fun to play and is now available in countless designs and variants.
The new and lightweight materials enable players with a slower swing speed to achieve unimagined shot lengths, just as top golfers can achieve ever greater distances.
Take advantage of the material development and treat yourself to a new blade.

Hybrid racket
The hybrid or rescue golf clubs are a mixture of irons and fairway woods. They combine the characteristics of the long distance of fairway woods with the precision of irons.
Hybrids are therefore suitable as an all-round tool, but also especially for shots from the semi-rough, from which fairway woods are too difficult to play and the desired shot length cannot be achieved with irons.

Fairway woods
The fairway woods can also be used to cover long distances on the fairway.
Ideal for the second shot on a par 5 hole or a long par 4 hole, but also suitable for teeing off on long par 3 holes or narrow fairways where teeing off with the driver is too risky.
Cast or forged variants - iron sets
The iron sets are available in cast or forged versions and are primarily intended for so-called transport shots or shots onto the green.
Here is a brief overview.
- Long irons (2, 3, 4): These clubs are more difficult to hit and are used for long distances. Due to their difficulty, they are often replaced by hybrid clubs, which are easier to hit.
- Mid irons (5, 6, 7): These clubs offer a balance between distance and precision and are often used for shots from the fairway or approach shots.
- Short irons (8, 9): These clubs are used for accurate approach shots, often to the green, and create a high trajectory that helps bring the ball to a stop quickly. In doing so, these golf clubs contain different loft angles, which are designed for high and short or flat and long shots.
The pitching wedge of an iron set is designed for high approach shots to the green and is available with different loft and bounce angles.
Buying golf clubs - Use our buying advice
Now that you have all the important information, it's time to find the right golf club. The following purchase criteria will help you find the right club.
Pay attention to your budget
One purchase criterion when buying online is the price. Many factors can be seen in the price, for example: Manufacturer, material or quality. However, inexpensive does not mean cheap or bad. Of course, there is usually a correlation between price and quality, but expensive golf clubs do not necessarily always have to be the right or better clubs.
So if you are just starting out in the sport of golf as a beginner, you should always look for an affordable or mid-price segment. The so-called complete sets from e.g. Tommy Armour or mid-priced clubs from e.g. Precept golf clubs, Mizuno or Cobra are particularly suitable for this. Also look out for discontinued models, which can often be purchased at golf24.com at sensational prices.
An advanced player, on the other hand, who wants to improve his handicap with the new "weapons", should definitely always start in the mid-price segment and possibly also look for a golf club in the more expensive price segment. Brands such as Callaway, Titleist, Ping or Nike are recommended here.
Fitting as a finishing touch
Once you have decided on a certain model, all you really have to do is test it and have the club fitted to your measurements. Experience has shown that a static fitting is sufficient for 90% of golfers. Many manufacturers already offer such a fitting on their websites. For example, the Ping company at ping.com. With the data obtained, you can then easily order your golf clubs online by email.
We also recommend so-called demo days or fitting days - here you can test the materials at your leisure and develop a feel and sympathy for them.
For 10% of golfers, especially low-handicappers, a so-called custom fitting is usually recommended. This not only takes into account body proportions and measurements, but also the golf swing, swing speed, ball flight etc. are taken into account by computer analysis, so that the new golf club is customized down to the smallest detail.
Decisive questions can be answered in this way:
- Graphite shaft or steel shaft
- shaft flex
- shaft length
- Lie and loft angle
- Low or high center of gravity in the club head
- Grip thickness
Flex selection
The flex is the measure of the flexibility of the shaft of a club and is crucial for a constant and successful ball flight and a game that is easy on the joints. The speed at which the club head strikes the ball is the only decisive factor when selecting the shaft flex. Many different golf club flexes are now available, for players with extremely slow swing speeds through to very fast movements.
Unfortunately, the names of the shafts vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. As a rule, however, the following flex variants are offered:
- Ladies Ligth (LL) - suitable for ladies, juniors with a slow swing speed of under 50 mph
- Ladies (L) - suitable for ladies, men and seniors with a very slow swing speed of under 60 mph
- Senior (S/M/A) - suitable for stronger ladies or gentlemen with a medium swing speed between 60 - 75 mph
- Regular (R) - suitable for very sporty men and women with a "normal" swing speed of between 75 - 90 mph
- Stiff or Firm - suitable for sporty men and very good golfers with a very high club swing speed between 90-100 mph
- Extra Stiff (XS) - particularly recommended for professionals and players with an extremely high swing speed from 100 mph.
Adjust length individually
Manufacturers invest a lot of money in the development and testing of products. State-of-the-art golf robots are constantly gaining new insights, which of course also take into account the correct shaft length of the golf clubs. Here too, 90% of players are best served with a standard length. Only a few players need to adjust the shaft length. To find the right measurements, it is best to carry out a static web fit or have yourself measured by our experts on a demo or fitting day.
The length of a club is usually only changed upwards, i.e. the golf clubs are lengthened if necessary. Most golf companies recommend only lengthening a club by a maximum of half an inch and making the lie more upright. However, we only recommend shortening clubs in exceptional cases, as this would reduce the swing weight of the club so much that the trajectory and flight length would suffer too much. In addition, shortening a club usually makes the shaft flex much too hard. A shortened R-flex can quickly turn into a stiff flex or extra-stiff flex, which is unplayable for most players.
We also advise against retrofitting a club shaft, as was done to golf clubs in the 60s and 70s, but is still practiced today. This is because the individual components such as swing weight, flex, etc. are completely changed when the club is retrofitted.
Set loft
The loft of a golf club describes the angle of the club face, which is ultimately responsible for the height of the ball flight when hit correctly. With a low loft, the ball flies flatter and with a higher loft it flies further. The flight length is of course also mainly dependent on the club head speed at the angle of impact.
For very good golfers, the loft is often adjusted again to the standard loft of the club, especially downwards, in order to achieve even better performance in terms of distance.
Lie, Kick Point and Torque
The lie is the angle between the club head and the club shaft. The lie must be adjusted, especially for very short or very tall players, and is therefore even more important than the shaft length. For a male golfer who is 175 cm tall, the lie should be approx. 2° flatter. With a height of 195 cm, it should be approx. 4° steeper/more upright.
The kick point of the golf club shaft is the point at which the shaft flexes the most during the swing. A low kick point is therefore closer to the club head and the ball flies relatively high. A high kick point is located close to the grip at the top of the shaft, so that the golf balls tend to fly flatter. The medium kick point is located approximately in the middle of the shaft and results in a "normal high" ball flight.
The so-called torque value of a golf club expresses the "torsional stiffness" of the club shaft. The higher the torque value, the greater the torsion of the shaft at impact and vice versa. High swing speeds therefore tend to require a lower torque, as otherwise precision is lost and players with low swing speeds tend to require a high torque, as otherwise shot length is lost.
Select grip thickness
The correct thickness of the grip is particularly important for golf clubs. A grip that is too thick usually makes it difficult to supinate the forearms and maintain a stable grip on the club. This usually results in a slice or flight deviation to the right. If the grip is too thin, the balls tend to go to the left, whereby the stable grip is also lost here in particular. Ideally, the grip should run between the palm of the hand and the fingers so that it can be enclosed.
Why you should choose us - Golf24.com
We are aware that there are many providers in golf. Below we show you why we are sure that you will find the best offer with us.
Golf clubs of the highest quality
What does quality mean?
Of course, every customer has their own understanding of this term - so that we can all imagine the same thing by this term, we would now like to explain our understanding of quality:
- Quality in manufacturer selection: We don't want to flood you with golf products in our golf store - we still want to present you with a very large but above all good selection of manufacturers and products.
- As we know that time is money these days, we pre-select products for you that we consider to be outstanding in terms of price/performance.
- We not only attach importance to the good reputation of the manufacturers but can also offer you high-quality no-name articles and golf clubs here in the store.
- Quality in the product selection: Of course, we can already say a lot about the quality of the product selection if we have made a statement about the quality of the manufacturers - nevertheless, we also select for you again here: This means that we do not always include all of our manufacturers' products in our range from the outset.
- However, we also have to offer you cheaper alternatives to the expensive products - in general, quality naturally varies with the material and workmanship and therefore usually also with the price.
- You should therefore be aware of your expectations of the product beforehand, as you will only be satisfied with the quality if you are satisfied with the price and performance - if you buy a cheap racket and it does not deliver the expected results, you will have doubts about the quality of this product or manufacturer.
- The key to understanding quality is therefore to define expectations and then make the right product selection.
- We therefore select the right products and golf clubs for you in the run-up to the season and only include those products in our range that have successfully passed our quality controls in advance.
Buy golf clubs online - quality at a fair price
Of course, it is difficult to find a suitable model over the Internet.
