Up and down: types of play in golf

In up and down, only the player who wins the hole can score a point on a hole, even though he did not hit it with one stroke on a par 3, with two strokes on a par 4 or with three strokes on a par 5. He may therefore not hit it "in regulation". If the green is hit in regulation, it is also lost.
