Each player plays his ball from the tee to the hole. At the end, the lowest score of the team of players is counted. In a net competition, this can even be the higher score, taking into account the handicap.
Pre-teaming for the Vielball
In this tournament, everyone is only allocated ¾ of their handicap. The foursome is scored as a counting competition, according to Stableford or as a hole competition. Incidentally, the fourball is called the bestball in English!
