Why is it not allowed to wear jeans on the golf course, according to etiquette?
Jeans on the golf course used to be considered working-class pants and middle-class pants in the old United Kingdom and were therefore not recognized by the elite upper class of golfing society and were not worn by these gentlemen. In addition, jeans trouser shorts used to be very heavy and not at all suitable for any sporting activities.
Also, people in the British Isles were constantly exposed to very changeable and damp weather during a round of golf. As a result, jeans for golfing, even in later years, could not prevail on golf courses according to the rules of etiquette. This is because cloth pants dry and dry much faster than denim.
