As a rule, the dress code for an evening event is announced in advance by the organizer and sponsor. Either the dress code is published on the invitation or can be found in the program schedule or on the tournament announcement. Depending on the event, an evening event can be more sporting or more socially high-ranking. For example, the dress code for an evening event may require sporty, sporty elegant or evening wear (dark suit (with tie!) for men and cocktail dress for women). If the organizer has not specified anything in advance, a sporty, elegant look is always a good idea.
