The Open de España was formerly known as the Spanish Open and is one of the major golf tournaments in Spain. The tournament has existed since 1912 and the Open de España has been part of the European Tour since it was founded in 1972. Well-known champions are among the winners of the golf tournaments in Spain: Arnold Palmer, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer and Nick Faldo.
