The New Zealand Womens Open is still a very young tournament in women's professional golf. The women's golf tournament is an ALPG Tour (Australia Ladies Tour) event, but also counts towards the Ladies European Tour women's golf tournament rankings. The first New Zealand Womens Open was held at Clearwater Resort and was won by Frenchwoman Gwladys Nocera with an overall score of 8 under par.
