The Lalla Meryem Cup is the Morocco Open for women. The open Moroccan championships for professionals have been played in Rabat every year since 1993. As the King Hassan II Trophy, this golf tournament in Africa was initially limited to 12 players, but in 2010 the Morocco Open became an official event of the Ladies European Tour. Like many golf tournaments in Africa, the Marocco Open has been held in Agadir since 2011.
