The Malaysian Open looks back on over five decades of history. Today, the tournament is part of the list of major golf tournaments in Europe and the European Tour. In the beginning, the Malaysian Open was "only" part of the Asian Tour. The 50th edition of the 2,500,000 dollar tournament was played in April 2011. The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club is usually the spectacular venue for the Malaysian Open.
