The golf range

Geschrieben von: Christoph Knapp | |

The golf range is a practice area on a golf course. Almost every golf course now has such a training facility. The number of public golf ranges is also growing steadily, especially in large cities. In Asia, golfers are already hitting from multi-storey high-rise buildings into catch nets or a kind of cage. In Europe, a range is usually 200 to 300 meters long. Drives, i.e. the long tee shots, are mainly practiced on a golf range. Of course, all other golf shots are also practiced. However, separate practice facilities are usually available for putts or approach shots. On the golf range, practice balls can usually be taken from a ball machine. Members and guests of a golf course can use coins, so-called tokens or a magnetic card to get hold of practice balls and then hit them on the golf range. A grass area is usually available during the summer months, as well as various covered tee-off huts, from which balls can be hit from artificial turf mats in bad weather or during the winter months. The range balls must not be picked up again. This would be too dangerous and is usually done by a vehicle with an appropriate rack into which the balls fall.
