This is intended to reduce the basic problem of many amateur golfers, the so-called slice. Golf clubs for beginners or high handicap players in particular are now equipped with an offset. Better players generally prefer clubs with very little or no offset. These clubs are usually still forged, whereas golf offset clubs are cast. Golf offset clubs are offered by every manufacturer and in every price range. There are now not only irons, but also hybrids and woods with an offset.
