The golf fertilizer

Geschrieben von: Christoph Knapp | |

Many environmentalists still criticize the negative ecological impact of a golf course today. However, a golf course uses only 5 to 10 percent of the amount of fertilizer that is needed on the same area on an agricultural farm. The greens, which require a lot of maintenance and are intricately laid out, require the largest proportion of golf fertilizer. But even on the greens, only 20 percent of the fertilizer required on a field is distributed. Despite the criticism of many conservationists and some sections of the public, new measures for ecological golf course maintenance are constantly being developed and tested. In addition, the DGV awards various prizes each year to golf courses that are particularly ecologically maintained and landscaped and at the same time use no or very little fertilizer.
