Cleaning the golf ball
Is it permitted to clean the golf ball during the game in accordance with the correct golf behavior?
According to the Rules of Golf , a golf ball may only be cleaned between holes and on the green after it has been marked accordingly. It is best to use a towel or the ball washers provided for this purpose, which are often set up on the tees.
Cleaning the golf ball on the greenn is also permitted, but is not the correct way to play golf. Therefore, in such cases, always choose the front green or grass outside the green. In case of doubt, in accordance with correct golf behavior, cleaning the ball on the green surface can also be interpreted as testing the green and would therefore lead to corresponding penalty strokes.
