The most important women's golf tournaments in Europe are held on the Ladies European Tour. The best professionals from all over the world compete against each other in various European countries. The Ladies European Tour is the counterpart to the men's European Tour. There are of course also important ladies' golf tournaments in Europe for amateurs, but there is no tournament series comparable to the Ladies European Tour. These are mostly individual events without a European ranking. After the Ladies PGA Tour in the USA, the Ladies European Tour is probably the best women's golf in the world. Unfortunately, the prize money is not nearly as high as in the USA, which means that the absolute top players usually prefer to play on the North American continent.
