The Dubai Ladies Masters was played for the first time in October 2006. The prize money of 500,000 euros is the second highest on the Ladies European Tour. Only the Evian Masters offers more prize money. Annika Sörenstam won the first two ladies' golf tournaments in Dubai. The German Anja Monke won the Dubai Ladies Masters in 2008 and secured the winner's cheque of 75,000 euros.
