An invalid tournament result due to a breach of the rules in a tournament with handicap effect always leads to a deterioration of the handicap. An invalid tournament result exists if the scorecard is signed and handed in to the game management with an incorrect number of strokes. In this case and other possible cases, an invalid tournament result is generally always equivalent to a disqualification of the golfer.
