Golf coaches and tournaments - Golf etiquette

golftrainer-turnier

Am I allowed to take my golf coach to a tournament in accordance with proper golf behavior?
An amateur golfer is not permitted to take his or her coach or any other golf coach as an advisor or caddy on a tournament round. However, a golf coach may accompany an amateur golfer on a tournament on the sidelines of the fairway, only as a spectator and motivator. However, he may not actively intervene in the game or give advice concerning the game.

An exception to this rule, however, are so-called Pro Am tournaments. Here, it is common for a professional golfer to take part in a tournament together with one or more amateurs. The professional and amateurs form a team and the golf coach has the opportunity to help the amateurs with tips and tricks during the round. There are usually three classifications at such Pro Am tournaments. A team ranking, a pro individual ranking and an individual ranking for the amateurs.
