Winner of the counting game - DGV golf rules

Gewinner des Zählspiel - Golfregeln des DGV

Counting game; winners

"A scoring match shall consist of competitors completing each hole of a designated round or rounds and submitting a scorecard for each round on which a gross stroke count for each hole is recorded. Each competitor plays against every other competitor in the competition.

The winner is the applicant who needs the fewest strokes for the round(s) set.

In a competition with handicap, the competitor with the lowest net score for the round(s) is the winner."².

As a rule, a pure golf counting game is only played in professional golf. In amateur golf, the Stableford golf variant is preferred. Only at major national and international golf championships for amateurs, but also at domestic golf club championships, is the counting game still actively used in golf. But even in these cases, the golf handicap is calculated according to Stableford.
