"Each of the partners of a party may play all or part of the designated round alone; it is not necessary for both partners to be present. A missing competitor may join his partner between holes, but not while playing a hole."²
According to the Rules of Golf, this refers to what happens if, in a golf team competition, a player is not present during a round of golf or a few holes of golf. The representation of a party in golfing does not necessarily have to be guaranteed by all players of a golf team. One of the largest German golf teams is Golf Team Germany, which is sponsored by the PGA of Germany and the German Golf Association. It promotes young professionals and prepares them for the professional golf tour.
