Dispute over golf rules - Golf rules of the DGV

If doubts or disputes arise between the players regarding the rules of golf during a game of holes, a player may lodge a complaint. If no authorized representative of the game management can be reached within a reasonable period of time, the players must continue play without delay. A complaint shall only be considered by the Committee if the complaining player informs his opponent,

(I) that he is making a complaint,
(II) which facts he is objecting to and
(III) that he demands a ruling.

The complaint must be made before any player involved in the hole play tees off on the next tee or, if it is the last hole of the hole play, before all players involved in the hole play leave the green.

A later complaint may not be taken into account by the match management unless it is based on facts previously unknown to the player making the complaint and he has been given incorrect information by an opponent (Rules 6-2a and 9).

In no case, however, will a later complaint be taken into account after the official announcement of the hole score, unless the opponent knowingly provided the incorrect information in the opinion of the match management.
