In a golf hole competition, the order of play is therefore not just a question of golf etiquette, but is in fact regulated by the official rules of golf. If a player or a team plays out of sequence in a golf hole play, this means, according to the rules of golf, the loss of the hole on which the mistake was made. Playing out of sequence is therefore only possible after prior agreement with the opponent or the opposing team.
