"If a competitor refuses to comply with a rule that affects the rights of another competitor, he is disqualified."²
The rules of golf are not to be trifled with, so that a refusal to comply with a rule or a refusal to apply a rule of golf leads to immediate disqualification from golf. According to the official rules of golf of the DGV, every golf course management has the right to make use of the golf rule 3-4 rule refusal. As a rule, however, it is rather rare for golfers to refuse to accept a golf rule, especially as this leads to disqualification and termination of the competition anyway.
