Golf- USGA is the abbreviation for United States Golf Association. The association is not only responsible for the rules and regulations, the competition modalities, but also for the promotion and development of both competitive and popular sports in the USA. Only the USGA is responsible for issuing rules and decisions in the USA. In cooperation with the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the USGA also establishes the binding rules of golf for all associations and clubs in the world. The USGA is the world's largest golf association in terms of membership and has been based in Far Hills, New York, since 1972. As the organizer of one of the four major tournaments, the US Open, the USGA, together with the English Golf Association, is the only amateur association to organize such a large and prestigious tournament.
