A golf score is both the final result of a round and the number of strokes required on a hole. After completing a hole, the golf score is entered on a score card. This results in the total score at the end of the round. The score is entered by the so-called marker or counter. However, every player must check and record their own golf score, as the player is always responsible for the result that is entered on the scorecard. Before submitting the score cards to the secretary's office, the correctness of the numbers entered must therefore be ensured. Submitting a score with incorrect numbers may result in disqualification. In addition, the golf score on the scorecard must always be confirmed by the signature of the player and the counter during a competition.
