The golf hook

Geschrieben von: Christoph Knapp | |

For right-handers, a golf hook is a golf shot that starts towards the target, then curves sharply to the left away from the target and lands away from it. There are different variations of playing a golf hook. Ultimately, the club face is tilted strongly to the left in relation to the swing direction at right angles to the target at impact. In most cases, the golf hook is considered a negative event because, by definition, it does not land in the target. However, a golf hook often has to be played on purpose in an emergency situation or due to obstacles or similar. However, only a few players are able to do this. Basically, very good golfers usually struggle with a golf hook as a typical miss. 80 percent of amateur golfers, on the other hand, usually struggle with its counterpart the slice and thus a strong right turn.
