The clubhouse or restaurant of a golf club or golf course is referred to as a golf hole 19. This has to do with the fact that golfers usually visit the clubhouse restaurant for a drink after completing an 18-hole round of golf. The term golf hole 19 has therefore become established in golfing circles as the last stop after the 18th hole. This is where shots from the round are discussed, shop talk takes place and the odd "lady" is handed out. After tournaments, the award ceremony usually takes place here with a meal together. The Golf Hole 19 is therefore very important in terms of club life and social contacts. Even players who have not played a round of golf together meet here for small talk and to share their experiences.
