The so-called Golf Congu system is used to calculate the standards in golf. The letters Congu stand for "Council of National Golf Union". This system was introduced back in 1983 and applies in its current form from a handicap of -36. If you play one stroke better, you only improve by 0.5 points, i.e. to 35.5. This decimal point is always rounded up from decimal point 5 and always rounded down from decimal point 4, so that in our case you remain at a handicap of -36. If you play three strokes better than handicap -36, your handicap is -34.5 and therefore -35. In the lower handicap classes of the Golf Congu system, you no longer improve by 0.5 points, but only by 0.4, 0.3, then 0.2 and finally only by 0.1 points. In Germany, the system was supplemented and replaced by the slope system by the DGV in 2001.
