What is a green fee needed for, according to the correct behavior in golf?
A green fee in golf is the English term for a ticket that a golfer must buy in order to be allowed to play on a golf course other than his home course. Ninety percent of golf courses in Germany require membership of the German Golf Association or another foreign golf association in order to be allowed to purchase a golf green fee on their course. In addition, a handicap of minus 36 is often required in accordance with the correct golfing behavior. A few courses require an even better handicap.
A golf green fee for 9 holes is available from around 15 euros, an 18-hole round of golf costs on average 50 euros during the week and 70 euros at the weekend. There are no upper price limits here. The cheapest golf green fee is usually available on public golf courses, where a course permit is usually sufficient to play the course.
A golf green fee must always be purchased at the secretary's office of the respective golf course before entering the course. If the secretary's office is not staffed, it is usually possible to pay the fee at a green fee box. It is important to ensure that the golf course is open and that no tournament or similar is being held.
