Anthony Katz is a former high school teacher and basketball coach who was born and raised in Laguna Beach. He played basketball from a young age and had a deep passion for sports. He founded Hyperice in 2012, inspired by the rudimentary cold packs that athletes and coaches once used to cool muscle groups: a simple bag filled with ice, wrapped in a bandage. This image stuck in the mind of the ambitious sports scientist, leading him to develop a more comfortable and innovative solution for pain relief and recovery: Hyperice, the first product of his new company and the first high-end ice compression equipment. Since then, the founder has developed numerous recovery and pain relief products in cooperation with professional scientists, further expanding the brand's product portfolio.
