-
With half sets, which golf clubs are included, and whether a matching golf bag comes with them, varies a great deal. We can only recommend that, if possible, you choose a golf set containing the following equipment: 5, 7 and 9 irons, sand wedge, putter, driver, a wood or hybrid and, if possible, a bag as well.
More experienced golfers don't necessarily need a bag. For them, buying a half set makes sense if, for example, they want to try out a new manufacturer or need a spare set of clubs. Distinguishing features of half sets online:

One thing we can tell you: buying a golf set or a half set often works out cheaper than buying the clubs individually. Golfers, and beginners in particular, also find it much easier to play with clubs from the same manufacturer and model range than with sets they have put together themselves. We will be happy to advise you by phone on a suitable golf set or manufacturer. Time and again, Wilson, Tommy Armour and Callaway come out on top for golf sets.
Golf clubs tested: the most popular products at Golf24.com
There are often far more right-handed golf sets than left-handed complete sets. This is because there are still relatively few golfers, or manufacturers' customers, who play left-handed. So if you are interested in a left-handed golf set, take a close look. Regardless of that, we have a number of complete golf sets that are always well received and popular with buyers:
- Wilson Prostaff HDX Ladies: This Wilson club has a maximum clubhead size and delivers a high moment of inertia. The Wilson irons with their wide sole provide a low centre of gravity and easy playability. The advanced Wilson hybrids deliver maximum playability. Wilson has also used extremely high-quality graphite shafts here. Irons, woods, putter: ball after ball takes flight for a great game of golf.
- Wilson ProStaff SGI Men's: For men, the ProStaff is a really good set. The golf balls fly thanks to the forgiving clubs, especially the irons. Above all, Wilson wants to make it easier for men to get the ball airborne. The Wilson SGI golf set includes everything a beginner needs. Let the game begin with these great golf clubs.
- Wilson Pro Staff HDX: The HDX iron heads are made from 431 precision stainless steel. The high-quality graphite shaft of the HDX clubs and the tough, soft all-weather grips make this Wilson beginner half set a really good investment.
- Callaway Solaire 16 Ladies: These clubs are designed specifically for women. They are extremely forgiving and sit comfortably in a woman's hands. The driver in the Solaire series stands for long, straight shots.
If you still can't decide after seeing this selection, don't panic. There is a really wide range of good, attractively priced half sets. We are happy to advise you. Give us a call and we will find the right half set for your handicap and for you as a golfer.
Club materials in a golf club set
Many beginners struggle to choose the material for a set: steel or graphite? Or is there something even better? Here is a brief overview of the differences between the materials:
- Steel golf clubs: The low price and high durability of the metal make the steel shaft a top product for powerful golfers. The advantages are a consistent torque and clear feedback when you strike the ball off-centre.
- Graphite golf clubs: The graphite shaft has now become a standard product. Graphite is significantly lighter than steel. A stiff-flex graphite shaft gives different feedback from a stiff steel shaft, as the feedback from the graphite shaft is much softer and less distinct. It is often described as more forgiving. This material is therefore often used for the clubs in beginner golf club sets.
