Products from Callaway Golf

The Callaway Golf Company is one of the best-known and most successful golf manufacturers worldwide, despite its relatively short history. It was founded in 1982 by Ely Callaway in Carlsbad, USA. In addition to the Callaway brand itself, the company also distributes the well-known Top Flite golf products following its acquisition of the bankrupt Top Flite. Golf balls and the sets of clubs from Ben Hogan. These fit well into the portfolio, as Callaway is not focused on the production of high-performance golf clubs.

The acquisition of Top Flite made strategic sense, as Top Flite owned its own ball factory in China, where Callaway products are still manufactured today. Callaway achieved its major breakthrough with the Big Bertha racket series in the early 1990s. Driver It was the first driver made of stainless steel, rather than wood. The unusually large head shape revolutionized forgiveness. The series was gradually expanded, and eventually, titanium heads were added to the steel heads.

From 1994 onwards, Callaway also produced iron sets in addition to woods, offering the same level of forgiveness. The development of Short, Straight, Hollow, Hosel (S2H2) technology in 1988 revolutionized the golf market and remains Callaway's key technology. This patented golf innovation shortens the hosel length, thereby shifting the weight more effectively to the efficient clubhead circumference. Furthermore, Callaway pioneered many other developments, such as VFT technology, which lowers the center of gravity in the clubface, and Hyperbolic Face technology, resulting in higher ball speeds on center strikes.
