In the UK, additional bids on top of any type of betting game are very common.
Types of bids
The following betting units, or so-called bids, exist and are generally played frequently. All birdies or better. In the case of sandies, the ball is holed with the next shot after the bunker shot for at least a par. The greenies, also known as ouslems, are a nearest to the pin competition on a par 3.
Determining the winner
The winner is only the player who plays at least one par. If no player achieves this, the stake is also played on the next par 3 hole. In the Ferrets, the ball is holed from the outside, but at least one par must have been played to achieve a valid Ferret.
