According to the rules of conduct when playing golf, why is it not allowed to drive a golf cart, golf trolley or golf buggy between the green and the bunker?
On busy golf courses, there can be up to 150 golfers on the course in one day. The areas between a green bunker and the green itself are usually very small and narrow. Normally, the walking and driving paths on the golf course are generously distributed so that the areas are worn relatively evenly.
However, if such a small area between the green and the bunker were to be used by most players as paths for buggies, trolleys and golf carts, this area would generally wear out very quickly and the grass would lose quality or disappear. This in turn would impair the game of golf and the maintenance costs for these areas would be many times higher and more expensive.
