According to the rules of golf, why do you have to carry a rule book with you?
Every golfer should carry an official rule book from the German Golf Association with them at least during a tournament round. At some tournament events, it is even compulsory to carry an official rule book from the German Golf Association. Without one, you are not allowed to take part in the tournament. As golf is played without a referee, the rule book should help to provide an answer or assistance in unclear situations and in case of questions about the rules.
However, if the situation cannot be resolved with the help of the DGV's official rule book, the game management can be consulted after playing a so-called rule ball at the end of the tournament round. The contents of the golf rules in the official rule book do not have to be memorized, but a golfer should know how to read the register of golf rules and how and where to find the content he is looking for.
