Since the beginnings of the European Tour in 1972, the KLM Open has been a regular fixture on the European professional tour calendar. There are several golf tournaments in Holland, but the KLM Open, first played in 1912 and then known as the Dutch Open, is the country's most important tournament. The Hilversumsche Golf Club is one of the most frequent venues for golf tournaments in Holland, or the KLM Open.
