BWGV
The BWG is based at the Schönbuch Golf Club near Stuttgart. Am Schaichhof 1 in 71088 Holzgerlingen. The first golf club in the state was founded in Baden-Baden in 1901. It then took 23 years until the next golf club was founded in Gutach in 1924 by the Gütermann family, the Gütermann Gutach Golf Club. This was followed three years later by the Stuttgart Golf Club in Solitude, which is well-known in Golf Stuttgart and beyond and was founded mainly by Stuttgart entrepreneur Robert Bosch. The golf community in Baden Württemberg was then expanded to include Freudenstadt and Mannheim. It was not until many years later, in 1955, that further golf clubs began to emerge in Baden Württemberg. The BWGV was then founded on January 18, 1975 in the Hotel Nassauer Hof in Wiesbaden. The DGV Association Days were also held in Wiesbaden at this time and at one of these meetings, eleven representatives of Baden-Württemberg clubs spontaneously founded the Baden-Württemberg Golf Association. In the founding year, 18 golf clubs were based in Baden Württemberg, with a total of 3737 members, of which Golf Stuttgart and Golf Baden Baden were each represented once. At the beginning of 2009, the BWGV had 94 member clubs with 68,240 golfers.
