"In the four-ball counting game, the Rules of Golf apply insofar as they do not conflict with the following special rules."²
As with most other types of golf, the official rules of golf of the DGV also apply to the four-ball counting game. In four-ball counting play, each player plays his ball from the tee to the hole. At the end of the round of golf, the lowest score of the team of players on each golf hole is scored according to the rules of golf. In the four-ball counting game, each golfer is allocated only ¾ of their handicap. The foursome is scored as a counting game or also as a Stableford counting game or as a hole competition. Incidentally, the four-ball is called the best ball in English!
