"A penalty of disqualification may be waived, modified or imposed in exceptional individual cases if the match management deems it justified.
No penalty less than disqualification may be waived or modified.
If the Committee is of the opinion that a player has committed a serious breach of etiquette, it may impose the penalty of disqualification under this Rule."².
As you can see, the Rules of Golf also allow a golfer to be held accountable for a breach of etiquette. The Official Rules of Golf allow the course management to disqualify a player for a serious breach of etiquette. The decision as to whether the penalty of disqualification is justified in the case of a breach of etiquette is always at the discretion of the game management.
