"Foreign matter shall not be attached to a golf ball for the purpose of altering its playing characteristics.
PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF RULE 5-1 OR 5-2:
Disqualification."²
A golf foreign substance may therefore not be attached to a golf ball. However, the Rules of Golf also state that the modification and attachment of foreign golf materials to golf clubs is only permitted in part and to a certain extent. For example, according to the official DGV golf rules, it is permitted to attach additional weights to the club. Weights can be attached to or in the golf club from the factory of most top manufacturers such as Ping, Titleist, Taylor Made or Kramski. Unfortunately, however, there are also manufacturers for whom the swing weights of the golf clubs do not match.
