Complaints - DGV Rules of Golf

a) Hole play
If a complaint under Rule 2-5 has been raised with the Director of Golf, a decision should be made as soon as possible so that the score of the hole play can be corrected if necessary. If a complaint has not been made in accordance with Rule 2-5, it shall not be considered by the Committee.

There is no time limit on the imposition of the penalty of disqualification for breach of Rules 1-3.

b) Counting game
In stroke play, no penalty may be rescinded, amended or imposed after the competition has ended. A competition is finished when the result has been officially announced or, in the case of a counting game qualification with subsequent hole play, when the player has teed off in his first hole play.

Exceptions: The penalty of disqualification must also be imposed after the end of the competition if a competitor

(I) has violated Rule 1-3 (agreement on non-application of rules); or
(II) submitted a scorecard on which he had entered a handicap which he knew before the end of the competition to be higher than the handicap to which he was entitled and this has affected the number of handicap strokes received (Rule 6-2b); or
(III) for any reason submitted a lower number of strokes than the number actually required for any hole (Rule 6-6d), unless it did not include a penalty of which he was not aware before the end of the competition; or
(IV) knew before the end of the match that he had broken any other rule punishable by disqualification.
