"If a ball is moving in the water in a water hazard , the player may take a stroke without penalty, but may not delay his stroke to allow wind or current to improve the location of the ball. A ball moving in the water in a water hazard may be picked up if the player chooses to proceed under Rule 26.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF RULE 14-5 OR 14-6:
Hole play - Hole loss; Counting play - Two strokes."²
This golf rule is based on the assumption that the golf ball moves from its original resting position in flowing water. The official golf rules of the DGV allow this ball to be played even if it has improved its position and has been washed closer to the golf hole by the current, for example. The ball moves in the water and can no longer be found? Then, according to the rules of golf, a new ball must be used with a penalty stroke.
