Golfclub Westerholt: Golfclub und Golfplatz in Essen / Herten-Westerholt: The Golfclub Schloss Westerholt e.V. was founded in 1993 and has an 18-hole course on the 75-hectare grounds of Schloss Westerholt, in the heart of the Ruhr area between Herten and Gelsenkirchen. The fairways stretch around the castle and are surrounded by old trees, biotopes and ponds. With a bit of luck, golfers may also see game, which often accompanies players on the fairways. The "Pferdestall" restaurant, which belongs to the adjoining Hotel Schloss Westerholt, is used as the clubhouse.
