Golf club and golf course in Cologne / Bergisch Gladbach: The Golf- und Land-Club Köln e. V. was founded in 1906, making it one of the oldest and most renowned golf clubs in Europe. Today's 18-hole golf course was built in the 1950s and was designed by Bernhard von Limburger at its current location in Refrath. It is a historic golf course, as it was here that Bernhard Langers won the 1975 National Open Championship and thus began his great international career. Nick Faldo, Severiano Ballesteros and Annika Sörenstam are just some of the celebrities who have played here.
