According to the "Spirit of the Game", golf is a gentleman's sport in which all golfers are responsible for behaving fairly and correctly and counting correctly. The Spirit of the Game states that the challenge in golf is to master all difficult situations, to always accept the position of the ball and to play the ball as it lies. Only in absolutely unplayable positions can the golf ball be declared unplayable according to the rules.
