Specialist golf club manufacturers established themselves as early as the 19th century, after golf clubs had previously been produced by blacksmiths. The Morris, Park, Dunn, McEwan, Patrick and Forgan families were the leading manufacturers, so to speak. The traditional golf club manufacturer Forgan was the last of this line to close its doors in 1947. Today, well-known golf club manufacturers such as Callaway, Mizuno, Ping, Titleist, Wilson, Nike, Bridgestone and many more dominate the market.
